Indications and Dosage
Oral
Improve night vision
Adult: 60-120 mg daily.

Oral
Circulatory and visual disorders
Adult: 240-480 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses. Max dose: 480 mg daily.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, lactation.
Special Precautions
Diabetes. Avoid long term and high dose consumption. Doses >480 mg daily may be dangerous.
Adverse Reactions
Liver dysfunction (due to tannin content).
Drug Interactions
Increased risk of bleeding with anticoagulant or antiplatelets. Disulfiram like reactions if taken with alcohol.

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Vaccinium myrtillus (or bilberry) extract is claimed to be useful in treating visual and circulatory problems such as cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, haemorrhoids and varicose veins. It is often used to improve night vision. However, clinical evidence is weak and limited.
